Active’s UK rebrand was so effective at communicating their complex offer that France, Australia and Canada adopted it too.

Positioning

Active is a corporate trade – or barter – company. In a nutshell, Active swaps media and marketing resources for redundant or underperforming stock. Our job was to position this complex offer in a clear and engaging way (and improve on the previous proposition which was a bit of a mouthful: ‘creating extra value from unique trading relationships’).

Proposition

‘Free your unwanted stock’
This simple, direct call-to-arms summed up the company’s core offer and also encapsulated our fresh approach to their new brand identity.

Personality

The brand is bright, intelligent and innovative, inspiring us to create a colourful animated world populated by ‘flying boxes’. The boxes are the central image of the identity and are used to capture the sense of freedom and happiness that Active gives to customers when it takes problematic stock off their hands.

Result

The rebrand was intended for the UK market only, but the response from customers was so good that France, Australia and Canada have adopted the same strategy and digital rollout.

BEAR’s approach to developing ideas, creativity and clarity and the response to briefs are second to none. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they manage the process every step of the way, they have helped us build our brand in various international territories. The whole team are a pleasure to deal with and I would have no hesitation in recommending them unreservedly. I look forward to our continued relationship with them.
