The X Factor Childline Ball raises over £1m for charity
The NSPCC’s Childline has long held a special place in our hearts at BEAR, and working with the charity is always a highlight of our calendar. The Childline Ball last month marked our thirteenth year supporting this brilliant cause – and what a night it was!
Previous years have featured the Great British Bake Off, Show Time and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway themes, but having always fancied ourselves as karaoke stars, this year’s X Factor theme has to be one of our favourites.
We were tasked with bringing all the showbiz magic of X Factor to the ballroom, designing the collateral for the running of the ball.

And then the night’s auctions and fundraising began, with incredibly moving performances from John Cleese, Olivia Williams and Martin Freeman sharing the stories of children that have needed to turn to Childline in the past.
All in, the night raised a record-breaking £1,072,333 for Childline, meaning that for 35 days, Childline can be there for children and young people who need someone to turn to. Congratulations to the Childline Ball Committee and everyone at the NSPCC for all their hard work, that figure is a huge achievement.
“Your team’s creativity really brought The X Factor theme to life in all our materials and we greatly appreciate your kind and continued support.”
Charlotte Bignell, Special Events Manager
Childline, it was a blast – until next year!
